Paintings by Amanda Marie use vintage sewing patterns and children’s book characters that are vivid and graphic, bringing the audience a nostalgic warmth—drawing them into the hidden metaphors and relationships while hybridizing spray paint, stencil graffiti and neo-expressionism with acrylic paint. Amanda Marie Ploegsma has been living and painting in Colorado since 2001.

After two years at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, she was represented at Andenken Gallery (andenken.com) where she continues to show her paintings several times a year. Stevon Lucero is on a spiritual journey. More than a visual artist, he is - in truth - a philosopher artist. Each painting reflects a metaphor of his own internal dialogue between himself and God. Each piece tells a story in which the ultimate intent and value lies in the future when people will have a greater understanding and appreciation for true spiritual art.

Lucero has been painting for more than 35 years and is a member of the CHAC (Chicano Humanities and Arts Council) Gallery. Since childhood, he has experienced intense dreams and visions, and ventured more than once into separate realities. Through these revelations and studies of metaphysical, philosophical, and historical books and tapes, he has been guided to create two unique art forms: Metarealism and Neo-Precolumbian art. Recognized mainly for her feminine subject matter, unique flowing style and organic ingredients, Siloette’s stylistic approach can be easily compared to a modern formula similar to that of art nouveau. A personal introduction to graffiti in 1997, along with several years involved in the stained glass industry, definitely played a large role in her creative process and stylistic depictions produced to date.

In the past 10 years, she has worked as a self-taught muralist, illustrator and designer through the world of advertising, film, signature apparel lines and gallery exposure. Such clients include Vogue, MTV, Adidas, Scion and Random House. Homage can be paid to such creative resources as graffiti, art nouveau, Greek mythology, Native American petroglyphs, Egyptian symbolism and Japanese art from the Muromachi era. Currently, when Siloette isn’t absorbed in projects, traveling and collecting insane amounts of imagery and music, she can be found working out of her studio where she currently resides in Los Angeles.
